Exhibition “X Science Book Fair”. From 18 to 23 November 2014.

An annual meeting with the science book. An event to appreciate the significance of the book of science and its contribution to culture and the formation of our society. In collaboration with the Institute of Culture of the City Hall of Barcelona and the Laie library.

Exhibition “A pioneering Antarctic base”. From 22 November 2014.

CosmoCaixa Barcelona hosts the first laboratory Antarctic Base thanks to the donation of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). To see the testimony of the research team led by Dr. Josefina Castellví from 1988 performed the first laboratory Antarctic Base Juan Carlos I. A piece of history restored to show the contribution of this group of researchers in inhospitable conditions.

Workshop “What lies within the Antarctic ice?”. November 22 and 23,  2014. Entry fee.

At first sight, sea ice ecosystem seems like an extremely harsh environment for life. But if we take a sample of Antarctic sea ice, melted and observe with our own eyes under the microscope, what will we see? To discover all that this peculiar ecosystem hides and see why it has a very importance in the global ecosystem on Earth.

Rooms and spaces are filled CosmoCaixa experiments! To discover how science and technology have revolutionized the world, to learn and enjoy the workshops held at the Museum and participate in some of his most striking and iconic experiments related technology, energy, mathematics, chemistry, electricity and sound, among others.
