National Geographic, formerly The National Geographic Magazine, is the official magazine of the National Geographic Society. It has been published continuously since its first issue in 1888. It primarily contains articles about geography, history, and world culture. In addition to being well known for articles about the most distant corners of the world, the magazine has been recognized for its book-like quality and its standard of photography.

According to data from 2011, the magazine is distributed monthly in 36 languages ​​throughout the world and on special occasions extra maps and publications are released. It is available in traditional print and also has a website with access to free content on magazine articles, travel, history, photos and videos. It also has three types of issues by age reader: National Geographic for young and old, National Geographic Kids for children aged 6-12 years, and National Geographic Little Kids for children aged 3-6 years (only available in English).
