Knowledge in motion across contexts of learning -KnowMo Project

KnowMo is a project developed by TransAction research group and directed by Dr. Ola Erstad -University of Oslo. The aim of KnowMo is to study the conditions under which learning experiences out-of-school settings can be made relevant for young people learning into the school. The study is based on the recognition that currently many students experience schooling as disconnected from other domains in their lives and, consequently, the study also based on the interest to find ways to increase motivation students at the school.

KnowMo project aims to develop understanding of the differences and similarities between learning processes that young people do in different contexts. Specifically, it aims to investigate and suggest how teachers can draw on young people’s out-of-school experiences in ways productive for school learning.
